The Morning After....

the One Night Stand. This was my first installation in almost 10 years (it may be 10 more before I do another one)

Here are some process shots.
Room 134 before we "moved" in.
I reused the Redneck Stained Glass from the Powerhouse show last year. It became quilted wallpaper. My love of Graceland is no secret. I wanted to recreate a version of the billards room.

Here is the room during the day. Notice the party lights!

Here is the same room at night.

Quilts in the front room and drawings and prints in the back!

Here is room 134 this morning!

Drawing

I am still getting ready for the One Night Stand show. I have been playing with lace, spray paint, and pencils. Above is a master copy from the Walter Anderson show at the University Museum.
This drawing is from the Biology Department's taxidermy bird collection. Thanks Jason!

Daily Doily

I am getting ready for the Motel Art Show and printing like crazy. Lace gone wild!

Here is the first official collaboration between TCF (Kevin) and myself. It is a ebonized oak bench with doilies encased in resin.

This is not a collaboration but is a sweet oak beam bench.

Art Crawl

The Water Valley Art Crawl was last night. I love any opportunity to look at artist studios. We started at Yalo Studios. The WV is definitely happening! Lots of cool spaces and young artists....
Yalo Studios- Coulter Fussell
Upstairs from Yalo Studio... It looked like a magazine spread. I loved this space...
I loved the bathroom and original door!
Madeline Moore from UGA's textile piece
John Davis instrument
Kevin in a John Davis chair
The big house on Main Street with the over the top femininity and sweet miniature paintings.

Ridge and Furrow fine letterpress printing. I think I need some stationery.

Surprise Lilies

These Surprise (spider) lilies pop up in our yard every fall. I love them- the shapes are so funky and the color is so bright.
I got my Flying Geese "May" quilt finished. I think it looks awesome! The batting is 100% cotton- the perfect weight for a Mississippi winter.

Here is the back of the quilt. I got the green sheet at my neighbor's estate sale (Laura's house) The former neighbor was a home ec professor and had an excellent textile collection. This is the perfect sixties  green.
