PPOW

More of my favorites....
Oak Ridge Road

These paintings are super tight. There is no evidence of mistakes or excess paint. In other words, they are just as sharp up close. I love that this looks like a more organized version of my own freezer.

Illustrated poems from the altered book above. Amy Jean Porter is the artist and Matthea Harvey is the poet.

Cake, pie, sheep, and Vermeer- these might be my favorite things!

My website went live yesterday. You can check it out here!

This needs a bit more work on the edges, but it is close. I am thinking about calling it "Shrink Mellon"
What do you think?

Williamsburg Galleries

Here are some works that I liked in Williamsburg.

I was drawn to the work that has a push/pull with the viewer. The images worked from across the room but also rewarded the viewer up close.

isn't it ironic?

I took the train to Williamsburg this afternoon. I checked out some galleries and the whole neighborhood.

Here are some images of street art in the 'Burg (i don't know if anyone calls it that)

Caramoor Paramour

Yesterday was quite the adventure. I worked in the studio and attended a lecture about art and neuroscience by Suzanne Anker. In the afternoon, I got a text from some ole Oxford friends inviting me to join them at the William Tell opera in Kaltonah, NY at Caramoor. It sounded like an adventure and I had not left the city so off I went. Here are some pictures of the Caramoor grounds.

We attended a lecture before the opera in a beautiful Italianate courtyard. Marc is writing a book about William Tell as a symbol of rebellion. The performance of this opera is a historical clue as to the feelings of the people towards their ruler.
The opera was performed outside in a beautiful tent (sorry for the bad picture). It was an amazing experience- all four hours of singing.
